dashboard glass crack

I got the dashboard glass cracked, the bike was in the garage all winter.
last july in pattaya i have seen 2 other 929 with the same crack, so i think it is a frequent problem maybe caused by exposition of sun (UV ray) and internal stress of the plastic.
anybody else know this problem?

Re: dashboard glass crack

i have heard of this before with 929's....but it was to do with a melting clock!!

seems that the heat in the clocks apprently have melted the glass/plastic
(i know of one definate case )

i dont know what the solution is, sorry...

Re: dashboard glass crack

Is there any way a set of 954RR clocks would fit?

Re: dashboard glass crack

You know what is really strange is this is the exact same spot mine is cracked too. Almost exactly the same way too. Wonder if this is a fault with the 929's?

The RC51 had a melting dash issue; it was caused by the windscreen focusing the sun onto a spot. I have a feeling it is the same issue you have, as a clock does not get hot. It takes very little computing power to run a clock.

Re: dashboard glass crack

i think is not a problem caused by heat because i discovered it when i have recover the bike after 4 months she was covered in a box protected from the sun, dust, heat.
I think this is a fault with the 929's.
and think noother dashboard can fit it (aftermarket race spare a part)
