What is the best color for a bike???

Im shopping for a bike but im stuck on what color combination i want. I was looking at yellow bikes but my girl said that i would look like sponge bob if i got one in yellow???? i need help big time???

The best color is the one that you like.

If you truly care what my opinion is then I will let you know that I think the new 600RR "graffiti" paint job is the worst, stupidest, and most childish paint scheme ever contrived by any manufacturer. Right behind it is the Orange creamsicle color on the '08 RR, and right after that is the Tribal Orange crap that was on the earlier 600RR's. However, I also believe in free will. So if that is what you like then go for it. I might question your maturity level but only behind your back...and in this post.

Then first, call your insurance company and find out if they will insure the bike you want and for how much. Then read this post and the posts that follow...How much do you pay each year for motorcycle insurance?

I think this might be the first time I'm disagreeing with Slickwill, I kinda like that graffiti scheme. But in my opinion nothing looks better than a black 900rr with a big red wing. But out of the new bikes, I'd go dark....unless you REALLY want to look like a Power Ranger.

Some people might say brighter colors are safer, being that other motorists are more likely to see you. In my opinion if you had a lime green bike with strobe lights on it you'd still have some idiot saying "I never saw him officer" right after they'd sent you to the hospital. Get what you like.

As far as insurance goes, see if you can the get the vin# of the bike you are looking at buying from the dealer and us that to get an insurance quote. I got a quote from Progressive using the only the bike's model number and when I got to dealership to buy the bike and called them with the vin the rates tripled. Needless to say I didn't go with Progressive. I called "Gecko" and they wouldn't insure it without adding one of my cars on the policy as well. I ending up going with Nationwide but have since switched to Allstate. Best advice here is to shop around.

have the red/black color scheme 929....and it get's lot's of compliments , even when next to 2006 and newer bikes ! I think Honda's red/black color scheme on the 929/954's are some of the best looking bikes

This is an opinion based question. If there was a best color everyone would have the same color bike. I like to go with what I don't see as often. Me personally I would never buy the red honda because there are too many of them.
By the way I have the Navy/Yellow 929 euro colors. Which I have yet to see personally in the US besides mine.
