BE AWARE

I recently went to a local locksmith after going to the Honda dealer to get my key code for my bike. I spend $30 to have a new key cut, and it didn't work. So I called a local locksmith to come pick the lock and make new keys, after $125 more I found out that if you go to the dealer to get your key code you better make sure that the locksmith cuts the key properly, and I found out that the key code according to the locksmith is backwards from what the dealer gives you, and the first key was cut wrong. So if you lose a key and it doesn't work, make sure that you have them cut a new key with the code reversed, so you can save 4 hours and some money. It would seem to me that the Honda dealer would know this and would let you know, but mine didn't and I paid for it. Needless to say I won't be going back to them, I was just fortunate enough that the locksmith was honest and worked his tail off in the cold to find out what was going on.

Re: BE AWARE

If the keycode was given to you backwards by the dealer, then the whole thing is the dealer's fault and he should pay all the extra expense.
