| Dont you hate it when.... .... You know you should do something, but you dont and it bites you in the arse...
Sorry, I have to rant this. A few weeks ago we were riding in the nice weather, as Im sure most of you were too, and I grabbed my guys phone and put it in my pocket. About an hour into the ride we stop, and I relise my stupid self didnt zip up the pocket!! Funny story is its one of those military grade phones. He has dropped it in the botton of a 5 gallon bucket and run over it with a tug at work and it was just scratched.. So... its still a usuable phone on the side of the road somewhere....
So I have been banned from pocketing such items lol... So in saying this, we went riding yesterday.... I just KNEW for some reason we should take the tank bag. However I was in too much of a hurry and left. We get done with our ride and stop for some 90% off V-day candy (which I never got. grrr) and uh oh... My man didnt zip up his jacket and his wallet is gone!!! lol Should have taken the tank bag....
How many of you have lost things while on the bike??? I want to get a list going and see what the most random or spendy thing has fallen victim to the road. Let me know!! |

| Re: Dont you hate it when.... lol isnt that the truth! There isnt enough room in the seat and we make a lot of stops so its harder to get to when its under our armor. Simple solution, OUR TANK BAG!! Lol we get it for christmas and dont even use it. I know I know, we are silly. |

My Hornet on the other hand doesnt, and neither does my VFR which i am amazed at. The superbike has more space compared to the VFR/Hornet..

| Re: Dont you hate it when.... Last summer went out with a buddy to ride the Kangamangus Highway in NH. Half way there on 16 he has to stop to water the trees. We ride to the gas station at the start of the highway and he can't find his phone. We say oh well, we are already here, might as well continue on with the days plan. We ride from one end to the other and back again. Head down 16 to get back home. As we are coming down the road I figure we are in about the same spot he stopped earlier. We pull off the shoulder and I call his phone. We can hear it ringing in the tall grass. We rode almost 400 miles that day and found the phone he lost about 6 hours earlier. My good memory got me a fill up at the next station and dinner later that night. |

| Re: Dont you hate it when.... i have a hotbodies undertail, and sometimes when the rear shock compresses the tire will hit the plate and flex the plastics. this sometimes causes the undertail to pop out at the bottom. usually when doing stoppies or hitting a dip at high speed.
anyway, long story short: i was riding home and decided to do a stoppie at the traffic light. my garage door opener fell out and i figured it had probably been run over a few times by the time i noticed it missing. woooops...... |

| Re: Dont you hate it when.... on my gsxr750 i put everything in a tuperware *spelling?* in the tail, but on my 1000 there is no room for anything except my insurance card so i dont take a wallet, just grab my license, credit card, and cash and put a rubber band around it and put it in the bottom of my boot. as for my phone i put it in my jacket pocket and hope it's there when i get to where im going. |

| Re: Dont you hate it when.... Well this hasnt happened to me...yet...but it has happened to my dad a few times. When he first got his 954 he was riding to work and he had his laptop and stuff strapped to the tail, and he was going across the bay bridge into SF at a good 70 mph...didnt even realize it till someone pulled along side him and got him to pll over....by the time he got back to where it was it was in a million pieces across the wholle free way. And then, just about a month or so ago, he dropped his Blackberry out of his pocket on the freeway...funny thing is, when he went back to get it, it still worked.....had a couple scratches and cracks, but worked just fine! haha... |

| Re: Dont you hate it when.... Somehow i have avoided losing anything myself while riding, and most important things go into the zip pocket inside my leather jacket.
Anyhow, I have a friend i lived with who also rode.
One day he goes out to play racquetball using his backpack for carrying everything like his sport shoes, socks, etc.
After he goes to play he rides back home down a couple of freeways and gets back home, where the first remark i make is, 'Dude, your backpack is flapping in the wind, where's all your stuff'.
Well after going back out we see his stuff all thrown along a freeway interchange.
I got a great laugh, but he never did find that other shoe |

| Re: Dont you hate it when.... I went on a ride one time...at the time I lived about 50 miles from where I worked and went to school and basically did everything. So everyday I'd pack everything I needed to handle in my backpack and carry it with me all day.
Well, this one fateful day, I loaded up a couple of Blockbuster movies that I needed to return, some school study materials and a couple of textbooks. Went on a ride sponsored by a local dealer. The ride out to the destination was a lot of fun, and we just kept a nice smooth fairly slow pace and got there no problem.
On the way back, I took a different route with a small group, and we jumped on the freeway. They were going about 55-60 just enjoying the pace, but I had errands to run so I took off. About ten minutes later, I look to the right and there's a lady in a minivan making some sort of crazy hand signal.
Then I notice that my shadow on the asphalt has some sort of flapping section bouncing around behind my head. Apparently the wind caused my zipper to open at the top of the pouch, and all 5 of the DVDs that I had to return managed to free themselves and bailed out on the road somewhere.
GOD that was expensive! |

| Re: Dont you hate it when.... My sunglasses (GA's) fell out of my rain jacket pocket riding a 125 Honda wave. I'd forgotten/couldn't be bothered to button down the lapel. I stopped immediately but couldn't see them anywhere and I just knew what would happen, I'd hear them getting run over first. Guess what? Five minutes later that's exactly what happened. A bloody great 4x4, too. Not that it makes any difference. |

yep that's why we keep zipp them to the side not to the top it's not the wind it's the weight of the bag well just keep the bags zipped to the sides not the top should be safer |

I got all excited to see my bike running and I quickly hopped on, not realizing I left the rear seat unlatched. As soon as I opened it up on the highway, no more rear seat. I didn't realize it until I got to work, 10 miles later. |

actually, i feel your pain. a couple of months ago, i reached back to find that my bag of groceries was no longer riding bitch (2nd up). about a mile back, the whole bag had scattered about completely blocked the fast lane. so, i was obligated to clean it up.
