everything listed are things that i have not done myself, it was all on the bike before i got it.
- wiley full exhaust (btw, how would people rate this exhaust? just kinda curious)
- k&n filter
- a very nice port and polish job that i've seen first hand

| Re: Next performance upgrade? If you can get your hands on one....Vance & Hines Powerpak makes a big difference, especially in upper rpm range. I don't know if they still make them or not, I got mine used. Back when mine was stock, it would peak around 11k and it would flatten out almost to 12k meaning the power didn't drop off, it kept making it. I'm anxious to see how it does after I get it back together again. |

| Re: Next performance upgrade? some nice rear sets, probably the favorite of all my aftermarket work. got a nice pair from vortex, nice looking, fully adjustable, i luv the new riding position.
and good windscreen, the gp or double buble type. i have a puig and it does make a difference on the highway |

| Re: Next performance upgrade? ok, cool thanks for the ideas...
now is the 520 conversion where you drop 1 tooth in the front and go 2 up in the back or am i thinking of something else?
and i have thought about track school... would be a good idea to learn some of the technical stuff of riding since i just started.
i'd like to think im in good shape... im 5'7" and about 125 so im not overweight... if anything i could use a few more pounds lol... i started working out again about 2 months ago tho so i should be set there... hopefully
and as far as the reason of wanting to up the performance i just wanted to get an idea of what else i could do because it seems pretty topped out already... ill most likely end up doing the 520 conversion and riding for awhile because summer is on its way and i have more power than i need already
btw... if anyone around knows of a good track school around southern michigan/upper indiana please let me know
thanks |

| Re: Next performance upgrade? if you just started riding i would do the 520 conversion but dont lower the gearing too much, it will make the bike very twitchy. if you want to experiment i would just drop one tooth in the front and keep the stock teeth on the rear. after you get used to that setup then i would start adding teeth to the rear sprocket. one down in the front is around a 7% gearing change and will bring you closer to a 3 to 1 ratio which puts most bikes in the ideal rev range. on track school!! |

thanks | the 520 conversion is taking the chain from a 530 to a 520. not worth it unless you are going to track the bike often. the chain will wear faster but will save weight. you might drop a tooth on the front sprocket but other then that i probably wouldnt touch it. |

Chain is just as strong. At least i think so with 16,000 miles out of a 520 on my old RC, and more than that out of it on an old YZF1000. Take care of the chian and ittl be alright. |

| Re: Next performance upgrade? i guess it comes down to personal preference. i wont change my chain to a 520 on my street bike. no point to. i dont ride hard enough on the street to constitute it |

| Re: Next performance upgrade? mach900rr,
If you are in SW Michigan, you are not far from Grattan Race track. Sportbike Track Time has schools there, as well as Apex to Apex Riding School. The track is located just east of Grand Rapids, near Belding. Awesome track! I know as of Oct of last year, they re-paved have the track. Im sure, they paved the other have half by now. I was told, I you can ride well there, you can ride well anywhere... |

| Re: Next performance upgrade? yeah grand rapids is about an hour away from me so thats my best bet. i live in bridgman which is around the benton harbor/st joe area. its a really small town that no one knows of but if you take I-94 towards chicago you drive right though lol. blink and you'd miss it.
soon as spring gets here for sure im going to look into that.
thanks |

Akrapovic give great results so do hindle headers with almost any can on them
- k&n filter------always good but best with an ignition advancer
- a very nice port and polish job that i've seen first hand
Too shiney just lowers compression so you will need to skim the head while its off (about .025mm) would do
- jet kit |
SS brake lines if not already there
And a good service make sure the shimes are done (valve clearance) |

| Re: Next performance upgrade? Well dude im in Ireland but here it goes..
Ign advancer you will get one in the US the brand is factory This will only give you more power/torque from making the spark happen 4 degrees sooner therefore making the throttle response smoother and sharper. Dude its worth getting (a bit like running with race fuel but all the time) brake lines-look ub goodridge.co.uk its good stuff... best of look with it bro!! |
