best thing i know to do is to keep clean airfilter, plugs/wires replace if you have a lot of miles on them, and drive the speed limit. |

| Re: Today's Gas Prices & Gas saving advice You dont know how lucky you are,in the UK we are paying over $10 a gallon for our lowest octane gas because over 65% is pure tax.
That is realy hurting everyone over here. |

$3.72 in Plano yesterday for 93 octane at Costco. | Third time actually and only the second time here. There wasn't a specific thread on it here before. I'm trying to get the point across. People will go through all sorts of stupid products and "fuel saving" gimmicks but will never do the one thing that is proven to work. SLOW THE HECK DOWN.

| Re: Today's Gas Prices & Gas saving advice best fuel savings is for everyone to keep driving. if there's no accidents or other obstacles on the highway just keep driving. no more stop and go bs. you shouldn't be on your brakes every 3 seconds on the highway. we can all drive around the same speed. it shouldn't matter if there's 5 cars or 500 cars, if you all keep going we all save fuel. not to mention saving a lot of frustration. its as simple as staying steady on the gas pedal.

| Re: Today's Gas Prices & Gas saving advice The tornado can not possibly work on a fuel injected vehicle. the vortex it advertises will cease to exist when the valves are closed. since the fuel is mixed with the air in the intake just prior to the valves, and the vortex is not really there at the time, there is no real advantage for a fuel injected engine. It MAY help in the mixing of air/fuel in carb and TB inj engines, because the vortex is more toward the air filter than toward the valves. this would cause the swirl to mix the fuel in the air better.
as far as fuel saving tips, Check your tires weekly. As little as 3 lbs of air difference can make a 10% change in fuel economy.
Anderson SC fuel prices: 87 oct= 3.43, 92 oct 3.63 |

My way of saving gas.....I manage a Cleveland airport rental car location. Free company car and all the free gas I can use personal or business. Then...don't worry about putting 4 gallons at a time in the bike. Doesn't hurt all that much. |

| Re: Today's Gas Prices & Gas saving advice Try driving a car smaller than a resident of the Cretaceous epoch. My wife's '94 Toyota Tercel gets nearly 40 mpg on the freeway. And its the big car. Drive your bike whenever you can, even our sportbikes are more efficient than you average car. |

| Re: Today's Gas Prices & Gas saving advice I tend to look at my recreational fuel consumption from a different angle. Rather than change my riding habits in order to save fuel, I would rather change some lifestyle habits in order to save money. That savings can then be used to fund my riding. For example- I like to have 2 beers after work, but if I can cut it down to 1 beer, or 2 every other day, then I will save a case of beer a month. Where I come from that's as much as $36.00. That will buy me nearly 2 tanks of fuel at $1.20 per litre. The same could be done by you smokers or fast food junkies out there. These lifestyle changes could mean better health for us, and we don't have to cringe each time we feel like givin' here a good rip. |

I'm glad I only had a 5 mile drive to work. not even worth taking the bike really. then I do about 218 miles while I'm working. but that ain't my fuel and ain't my truck. so my foot stays planted to the floor until someone gets in the way or I have to take an exit.
