Stiffening spring?

Not sure where to post this... I recently purchased a Yamaha Jog. The weight limit's like 150lbs and Im about 200lbs. I suppose this could apply to any and all things that have a coil spring. But I was wondering what I could do or use to make the spring stiffer. Some kind of rubber wedge or something to use in between a couple coils. Whats your thoughts?
