| full exhaust? are there noticeable HP/torque/power curve differences between brands? I found a really good price on a two brothers full exhaust for my 929. Does anyone have any experience with this setup?
Do the dyno charts on the two brothers web site mean anything? It's hard to see what the HP differences are.
Are there noticeable differences in HP/torque between different full exhausts? |

| Re: full exhaust? are there noticeable HP/torque/power curve differences between bran The three full systems that give the best performance (and all 3 were very similar) are Arata, Micron, and Hindle. This is on a 929/954. Don't know about how they are on other models. |

| Re: full exhaust? are there noticeable HP/torque/power curve differences between bran Where did you get that information? Do you have a link or something I could search google with?
Arrow shows an 18 HP increase on the 929 while ackropovic shows 9HP (using before and after pipe on same dyno).
I find it hard to believe that the increases are from 9 - 18HP with two high end pipes.
I'd like to see numbers, but also peoples own seat of the pants livability thoughts and opinions after putting on a full exhaust from stock or a bolt on or slip on.
Thanks guys (and gals) |

| Re: full exhaust? are there noticeable HP/torque/power curve differences between bran Pipe manufacturers are going to be overly proud of their own products (hey they have to sell dont they). But some of the builders are going to quote the HP to the wheels and others will quote to the crank of the engine. You just gotta read and talk to people that has had more than one system on their bike. Maybe go to a dyno room and ask the tech there. |

| Re: full exhaust? are there noticeable HP/torque/power curve differences between bran I think Dan Kyle compared the three I mentioned, and I think it was on this forum, way back when. I don't remember the hp figures. I do know that with a custom tuned map in my PCIII and an Arata pipe, my 929 puts out 146 hp (I got a strong one) and my friend's 954 with the same mods is 145. I didn't dyno it stock, but with a generic map/Arata it was 138.
Different dynos will give different numbers, as will the same dyno on a different day, so that can explain the wide range of claims. The main thing is to see an improvement in the smoothness of the curve and top hp on your bike comparing it before and after a custom tune. The top hp really doesn't matter; a smooth curve with the proper air:fuel ratio throughout the entire rpm range does. |

| Re: full exhaust? are there noticeable HP/torque/power curve differences between bran Stay away from erion. When I was shopping for an exhaust, I searched the 929 forum for hours. Can't remember who it was, but someone had tested the thing and found that it gained a few horse up high, and lost fifteen or so in the mid-range.
I ended up with an Arata, looks wonderful and the welds are perfect. Now I just need to get the thing mapped.

| Re: full exhaust? are there noticeable HP/torque/power curve differences between bran awesome thanks!
It looks like the arata has a big dip in the beginning. The hindle looks the best overall.
I wonder if these were all done on the same day with the same ambient temp and humidity.
The stock also looks to be really smooth with very few dips. I was hoping to get the throttle to be even smoother with a full exhaust.
I'm assuming that the indication for map # means they used a power commander. |
