Dunlop d616

anybody got any feedback on these tires? I have thought they looked sweet since they came out, and now they come in a 190. I am due for tires and am thinking about giving these a try. I would like to see some opinions first though. I don't really care about milage, I got 3800 out of my bt012ss. I want to try alot of different tires, so far bridgestone bt010s, bt014s, bt012s, dunlop 207, 208. maybe some pirellies soon? Thanks.

I think it depends on your riding style. If your not really pushing the limits, it could be a good choice. All those grooves means less rubber on the ground.

Re: Dunlop d616

From the picture that looks like either a wet racing tire or a touring tire. Might not be the best choice or a 954. I used to ride an SV650, and a lot of those guys love the Continental touring tires, or the Metzeler Z6, or the Pirelli Diablo Strada.

---

Halfway through writing I found some info- they are standard on the Buell Ulysses, they are supposed to be developed from wet race tire tread patterns, but they are also supposed to have some off-road capability.

Still might not be the best choice for the 954.

Re: Dunlop d616

its says on dunlops website that "they now come in 190/50/17 to fit a wider variety of sportbikes" so by that I assume they are sport tires??

Re: Dunlop d616

It looks to me like they are supposed to be tires that fit on sportbikes, but encourage limited unpaved road travel. Not full or even semi-knobbies like dirt bikes would use, but not dedicated sport tires.

What are you looking to do with your bike, road and riding style wise?

Re: Dunlop d616

well I am certainly not going off roading with it. I need new tires and want to try a bunch of tires, not just jump on the pilot power bandwagon.
