| Re: Upstate South Carolina yeah I've never been to the one in Greenville. We have one in Anderson on Thursdays. It gets packed up there. Probably 200-300 bikes on an average thursday. |

| Re: Upstate South Carolina Go up to the Holly Springs store at Highway 11 and 178 on Saturday or Sunday morning. There are always a few people there you could probably hook up with. That Hooters bike night in Greenville on wednesday nights attracts a few 100+ per day riders but seemed to be mostly guys on cruisers who think its a good idea to drink beer then ride home. Don't know about the Hooters bike night in Anderson, I think its on thursday nights. Check it out, cant hurt.
That Holly Springs Store above Pickens would be my guess as the best place. From there you can go up 178 to Rosmond and catch 211 ( I think) into Brevard and come back down 276. All of it is really good riding up there. Check out some of the bike shops too. I met the parts manager of the Suzuki place on Wade Hampton (not Powersports of Greenville, but out further toward Greer) one night and he was pretty cool. Foothills Powersports on 153 might be willing to call you when they are going out too.
Good luck finding some guys but be careful when you start riding with them. See how they ride (fast, slow, reckless) then decide if you want to keep riding with them. Nothing ruins a nice ride like the cops pulling everyone over because one jack bag had to go down the road standing on his tank.
And be careful all over that 178 area. The State Troopers were setting up roadblocks and checking bikes really hard because of all the deaths they had up there last year. They said something to me about my front tire tread and then told me to fix where my tag was mounted. Got back down the mountain and found out they had given an $85 ticket to another guy for the same thing. They sit just before 178 crosses in to NC. |

Last year when a couple of us rode up, there were some guys riding it like a track with baracades and hay bales. I tend to ride on the conservative side. These guys were flying, both up and down the hill. I appreciate the heads up and info. |

| Re: Upstate South Carolina Yeah, I have ridden it like a track a few times and then I realized that a track gets swept, inspected, and pixed regularly. 178 gets used by logging trucks and has washouts from the residents driveways. It made me slow down to reasonable speeds. |

| Re: Upstate South Carolina my thoughts exactly. Plus those logging trucks could be pulling out around every turn. I am not saying that I don't play on public roads. I just use a select few that I know of that don't have houses and side roads. There are a few here in anderson that you don't have to worry as much about side traffic, so you can concentrate on the road itself and what may be wrong with it. |
