I'm sick of the rain.. I want to live somewhere where the sunshines for most of the year!!!! | I know a place that has been voted to have the best climate in the World ,I kid you not. It's Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast and I live one hour south from there. I also have a few Pommie friends that have moved here and some still can't seem to adjust to the lifestyle mainly. I think it all happens to slow here in the country. |

| Re: Whats hacked you off today? Some 419 scammer almost scammed my colleague at work. This cust-scammer asked her to charge the Mastercard which he was paying with, with an extra amount, and transfer that by CHAPS blah blah blah.
To cut a long story short, after a bit of faffing about between me, my boss and this colleague, we told the guy to pay us directly into our account, or no business. The guy left in a huff.
The good part - We got as far as getting this dude's accomplice's bank account details, and the various cards that he's tried to pay for stuff that he was trying to buy from us.
The bad part. Knowing that he tried to set us up for a scam, I called our bank who weren't interested because appartently their fraud department was made redundant. What's worse, the police were not interested because no crime had actually occured. There is actually a special unit that deals with this kind of stuff, but the cop who answered my phone call obviously was not aware of it... Tried Crime Stoppers and they were of no help either.
I think I might quit my job and become a criminal!

Yep, I thought it was hard to believe too. Well, I've tried. If they don't care, heck, they might be in on it together with them! Nevermind. |

When I took mine for MOT they were checking the lights and I herd one of them say is that on? the other guy answered Yes, no, yes, no ,yes! thought it the old "indicator gag" (how wrong i was) ... since then i have discovered Ducati and Electrics= if it works, it works.... If it don't It's proberbly on a T-break (might be back later)

I was talking about the electricity to houses and streets. We get fairly regular blackouts here. Some, they tell us, are because the government decides to shutdown certain streets each month to save money!?!?!?!?!
So, notoriously dangerous roads end up having zero lighting some months just to save a few baht each month... trying to understand the logic in operation here will drive you mental |

What really makes us all laugh is when the police say that for Christmas, New Years or Song Kran (Thai's new year in April) they are going to run new safety campaigns. All this really amounts to is a police betting pool as to what the "officials" will say the accident numbers are.
But in answer to your question, I would imagine that the rates definitely go up in the blackout zones. |
