Re: Whats hacked you off today?

Cutting may hand in 2 places today on the garage door when it decided to unhook itself from the cables* and the sharp bottom end fell on my hand.

One cut is between my thumb and forefinger and the other is just below my ring finger... BOTH of which hurt like hell while tryng to ride my bike (I know, I rode into town again afterwards)

* the ones which make the up and over part work

That's no good at all Loopy. Hope it's OK. At least you're doing some physio riding the bike, and holding onto a nice red later on tonight should help as well.

Re: Whats hacked you off today?

The bike's kaput..... (and you'll find out later what had actually happened.)

BOLLOX!!

Just as I have psyched myself up enough to jump on it, go through the motions of: switch on, start the engine, clutch in, select 1st gear, left foot down, back brake on, find biting point, check mirrors...

Doing all that whilst the battery charger is testing to see if it needs further charging... then when it was done, and I was knackered from the mental drills, I thought, man, I have not fired this baby up for a long time, let's hear it...

So key in, press the ignition (car drivers jealous now?) and kikkikkikkik-BROOM-bruuuu... the bike springs to live as it comes out of its forced hibernation. Like a Jack Russell, bounding with life: wherearewegoing where are we going canwegocanwego yay yay yay ...

I think to myself, "it is more eager than me!"

I jumped on, pulled the clutch in, select 1st gear... engine goes quiet....

Wha...?!?!?!

So I tried that again: start the engine, cluch in, select fisrst gear - click - it all goes quiet again.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT! It's a Honda, it should have been build like a tank! WHAT is going on?

I was almost in tears when I shut the garage just now.

And as I typed this post, I realised what had happened: I had left the side stand down, hadn't I?

I still have much to learn.

that's why mine are all disconected.......

I got into the habit years ago off kicking the stand up as I move off... in one motion its stand up and foot on peg.....
but the first bike I had a sidestand switch on I kept forgetting and stalling
so diconected it....

Re: Whats hacked you off today?

Well, I found out my bank had closed my account yesterday but I'm still hacked off with it today... and for a few more days I imagine.

I tried to use the auto-deposit thing in the branch and it declined me, so I tried the POffice and got the same... declined! So I went back into the branch to investigate? They told me that a letter is being sent out with the reason why, assholes.

I have never had a card declined when putting money IN the bank before... down right ridiculous.

Oh gawd. Well, swot up on your consumer rights and prepare for war. Then again I am assuming that you are an average Jo and not some villanous biker...

Dude, hope it gets sorted out real soon.

You're up late too.

Yeah, want to make the most of the weekend. I'll be running on RedBull again when the working week starts.

Thx for remembering that I do a bit of martial arts. Sorry - thought I had answered you already. I do taekwondo. Or as some might call it, "Take One's Dough". How about you?

I teach MA thats why I was interested

I teach Kempo Jujitsu, but I keep it street real none of the fancy stylists stuff. Spent too many years on that shite if it dosnt work in the street then ur dead

Other influences have been chinese, Isreal and a good friend a master of taekwondo from California.

Cool. Good to have a mixture of exposures. These days if I can get out of a confrontation I would, as size & strength are not on my side. You can tell me about your jiujitsu when we get to the meet

Size dosnt always matter, honest its intelligence thats important. Knowledge and ability to use it, thats what works.
I so teach my students not to use strength in their training, its technique first then brutal force next, then madness if u need to survive. Im small have have done doors for years.
