| Re: my rear tyre looks like its melting I have to agree with the other comments, most likely to low of pressure. The lower the pressure the hotter your tire runs. |

| Re: my rear tyre looks like its melting It maybe blistering. Why are you using Renns for street use? My guess is that you are keeping them hot for too long at a time.
At first I was expecting to see balled up rubber attached to the tire (common on the race track), but that doesn't seem to be the case. But for what it's worth, I can gouge my old Renns with my fingernail.

| Re: my rear tyre looks like its melting Are far as I know (which isn't much), Rennsports are DOT race tires. I didn't think they made a street version. Technically, you can use them on the street, but they are soft, wear out quickly, and you have to keep track of the heat cycles.
rokitt51, I said it wrong. There is more of an issue with constantly heating and cooling a race tire. Also, What I thing I'm seeing in the pic is the area that looks a bit white near the edge. If you look real close, it looks like the tire may have had a layer of rubber bubble up and then torn away.

I used to run the 208 GPs ,on the street and the life was pretty good. i never had any problems with them. We did a lot of twisty stuff in north Ga in the mountains. |

| Re: my rear tyre looks like its melting I'm going to be taking off my Marchesini wheels to get them ready for sale. I dug up a straight set of my old wheels that just happen to have some old Rennsports on them. I'll probably be using them up before I put some fresh rubber on them. It could get interesting out on the mountains with those old tires.

| Re: my rear tyre looks like its melting Hi Guys.
I used these tyres on my R6 and they are a very soft compound tyre. the dealer told me that the nick name for them is "Super stickies!!) they were great for grip but didn't last long as you can imagin. When i went to purchase some more i was told that there is a track and street version of this tyre and the track version heats up a lot quicker and holds the heat for a lot longer.
I found out that i was using the track version so i opted for the street version which lasted a lot longer. There a great tyre and i would deffinately use them again.

| Re: my rear tyre looks like its melting It was a REALLY hard decision to make. I considered it to be the pinical of aftermarket parts that I bought for the 929. They are the older style Forged Magnisium 5 spokers.

Red you don't want them if they are the Mags since you aren't running on the track anymore and they won't be of any use watching whales
