| Re: have you cut back on riding due to gas prices ? Spare a thought for the people who live in Europe, their prices have been off the charts for years and they are still alive. I agree with you however, I think they should now just step in and cap the world price for a month, its all driven by speculation at this point so a few people are going to get rich at the expense of everyone else... Just look at what happened with the property market. Getting back on topic I think more people will opt for two wheels as it is way cheaper than four. I ride for recreation and gas prices have not stopped me yet.

| Re: have you cut back on riding due to gas prices ? It costs here US $23 to fill up my 929, great pump price there in the USA. I have 2 other motorbikes, a 200 cc scoot and an off road bike, which consume much less gas. I use the latter two for city trips to save on gas and the blade for out of town trips. Indeed, 2 wheels is the way to go at today's gas prices, saves gas and travel time through traffic |

| Re: have you cut back on riding due to gas prices ? Luckily i dont have my bikes with me right now. i still have to make the 2000 mile trip to load'em up. that trip alone with a big trailer and gas prices have been holding me back. I work in the oil fields here in west tx so getting diesel isnt a biggie, be good if i had a diesel huh? Unfortunately i have to use unleaded, and that is an expensive trip there, and even more back here with the drag and the weight of it all. |

| Re: have you cut back on riding due to gas prices ? Being in the military. You would think they would cut you a break on gas prices on base but it's the same price, sometimes more than off base. I been riding a lot more. To the hottest day 101 to the rainest day. I'll take $17 in gas for a week and half. |

| Re: have you cut back on riding due to gas prices ? My recreational riding is cut short only by my work. Quick pleasure ride during lunch most days. I also commute 135 miles round trip and when I'm not teaching Motorcycle Safey Foundation (MSF) classes I ride on the weekends. Riding is my passion and vice! As long as people keep smoking cigarettes, I'll keep smoking tires! Remember: Ride your own ride. |

| Re: have you cut back on riding due to gas prices ? This is what wikipedia has to say on the matter:
U.S. liquid gallon is legally defined as 231 cubic inches, and is equal to (exactly) 3.785411784 litres (1 L = 10-3 m3) or about 0.13368 cubic feet. This is the most common definition of a gallon in the United States. The U.S. fluid ounce is defined as 1/128 of a U.S. gallon.
Imperial (UK) gallon is legally defined as 4.54609 litres (≈ 277.42 cu in), which is about 1.2 U.S. liquid gallons. This definition is used in Commonwealth countries and Ireland, and is based on the volume of 10 pounds of water at 62 °F. (A U.S. liquid gallon of water weighs about 8.33 pounds at the same temperature.)
Someone else can do the math on cost comparisons |

| Re: have you cut back on riding due to gas prices ? I'm not sure about the other countries but I believe Venezuela has oil reserves that's why their top honcho, Hugo Chavez, can afford to antagonize Western countries. I wonder how much riding they get to do there at that price for gas Someone should tell them to post here |

| Re: have you cut back on riding due to gas prices ? At least the Chinese government has agreed to raise their fuel prices by 18%. That should slow down them a little
Coupled with the increasing production that's due, there may be a drop in prices somewhere on the horizon |
