I've had a ride or two on the Daytona 675 and I just love the way it makes power, it may just be the perfect split between and inline and a V-twin. The engine is narrower, lighter and gruntier than an inline 4. The triple also has a unique sound and does feel a lot like a V-twn to ride around on. The negative is that a triple signs off at the top sooner than a 4 and to some people that may not be an area they are willing to compromise on.

I've got an 07 speed triple which has just the creamiest power delivery of any other bike that i've ridden. The noise it makes is so adictive that i'm allways hiting the limiter as you just want it to go on and on.
Yeah when you think about going with the triple configuration it was quite a gamble that Triumph took. The 675 must be due for an update very soon so it will be interesting to see what they do with the new model.

Re: Who's ridden a triple?
Good vid on post #1.
It's amazing how her tone and inflection at the end are EXACTLY like the guy from Car and Driver television.....must have gone to the same school of broadcasting!
I had five bikes on the stable; two XX's, an RC51, Daytona 955i and the '08 1000RR. I sold the Daytona.
The triple was fun, but have too many Honda tools and really didn't want to start another set. Triumph tries to follow the other manufacturers to save some money. That can be bad as they might change the tools as well; happened to me. Had their oil filter wrench and when Honda chaned their filter (but kept the same diameter so the filter wrench would still work) Triumph changed their filter to match that of Honda and the filter wrench would no longer work. They did this in mid-year rather when they had new models being released. Made no sense to me.
I liked the 675, sounds great. I just find that I keep hitting the rev limiter, being used to an in-line four.
I've ridden my mates TL 1000r V-twin a few times and I always hit the limter on that too.
