| Life Insurance So who has life insurance and if so who are you with? Myself, I have enough life insurance to make sure my family is looked after but It've never looked at the fine print to see if it covers things like motorsports and the associated risks.

| Re: Life Insurance We have.. and the reason I went with the company I did was because they didn't up the premiums for riding a bike.. Covers accidents as well.. Even the kids are covered..
It was a special deal I got through the company I worked with but even though I'm not employed by them now the deal stands |

It covers motorsport.
Being self-employed, income protection and sickness and accident policies are also vital.
For motorsport our race licences also include insurance.

| Re: Life Insurance In the USA it is next to impossible to try to get life insurance if you hold an active motorcycle license... If you got insurance before your license its not a prob, but my step father had to let his license lapse to pick up reasonable life insurance. |

| Re: Life Insurance Wouldn't you just have an exclusion in case of a motorcycle accident?
I've been told a lot of income protection and accident insurances nowadays have extreme sport exclusion which includes motorcycle racing. I don't think motorcycle riding is a problem though.
I think Combined Insurance has doubled benefits for travel accidents including motorcycle riding?

| Re: Life Insurance Well, in oklahoma, and with my company there isn't an exclusion for racing motorcycle or riding motorcycles. I've had my "M" endorsement on my license for a long time (10+) years and it wasn't an issue when I set up my own Life policy.
Now in my life application process. i ask every person. "Do you plan on engaging in avocations such as mountain/rock climbing, vehicle racing, SCUBA/skin diving, sky diving, ballooning or hang gliding, or in any such activity for the next 6 months?"
if the answer is yes, then that's where the exclusion's and things happen.
Now, if you're a professional racer and you Lie about this question and then are killed in an accident, they would investigage and could not pay out. BUT, if you're like me, I don't plan on vehicle racing (not track days, cause that's not a race) in the next 6 months, you could answer this question "No" and be completely honest and coverage would not be rated or excluded for this..
I Sell Life Insurance W/ State Farm in oklahoma is why and how i know this. |

| Re: Life Insurance Check into your life insurance through your job. alot of that is "Term" insurance and if you ever leave your job or get fired, you lose your Life insurance.
It's usually good to have a policy outside of work, just in case |

| Re: Life Insurance alot of people don't... but that's not the only reason to buy when you're young. alot of Term Life policies have a provision in them where you can convert it later to a permanent policy. and let's say you go out and are hitting the twisties. and you wreck, causing your pancreas to quit producing insulin... thus making you a diabetic... try getting life insurance after that...
Life insurance is a part of EVERY risk management profile.

These guys seem interested in pointing people in the right direction. Didn't buy from them though due to fees. |

Both the wife and I have retirement annuities, gifts that keep on giving for as long as we live.
I always thought of life insurance as one of the worst deals life has to offer. It's a bet with the insurance company: They're betting I won't die, and I'll keep opening my wallet to them for a very long time. I'm betting I will die, and they'll have to pay up. Either way I lose. |
