Plastidip

Have any of you used it on your bike? Mine is an '82 Honda Magna V45 that a previous owner did a TERRIBLE paint job on with a blue that's a couple flakes short of bass boat. The bike will never be perfect again, but my plan is to turn a $700 bike into a nice first bike and hopefully sell it for a bit more later (a decent looking, well running one goes for $1200 - $1500 locally.)

Anyway, I was thinking of doing a flat black on it...items painted would include the tank, speedo and tach housings, headlight housing, and the two side fairings (all are painted with the blue mentioned above.) I may also do the front and rear fender and get some high temp paint for the mufflers. I know it's going to be a dark bike, but hopefully the HID headlight and led signals and tail (all in the near future) will help keep me visible.

Any thoughts on Plastidip or the idea I have?

Re: Plastidip

I wouldnt suggest doing flat black.. Hard to keep clean, and unless its professionally done it wont look good.

Semi gloss black would be better imo

Re: Plastidip

The only reason I'm considering flat is that is the only finish that the spray plastidip comes in. A LOT of people from another forum I'm on (for my truck) have actually done their wheels in it and it's help up well and is reported as easy to keep clean. Since I'll only be riding on sunny or nice weather days, I don't think cleanliness will be a problem.
