Re: 2012 CBR 1000RR Fireblade
Apart from the dash, it is way to similar to the current bike to interest me TBH.
I wonder if it likes the taste of Castrol GPS too

Re: 2012 CBR 1000RR Fireblade
Needs a big sign on the side saying Im the new one, aesthetically way to similar, dash is nice though.
I assume the real heart is in the tweaks

Re: 2012 CBR 1000RR Fireblade
Just posted this on MCN page:
It's easy to 'play down' the new bike for not being 'new' but at the same time don't forget its been the top selling litre bike for all 4 years since launch (pretty sure it was still ahead of the s1000rr last year)
The new bodywork looks better and should be much easier to remove and re-fit than the current bike. The new dash includes the gear indicator fitted by many owners and I have no doubt there will be an 'entry level' bike with no electronics and then one with everything like traction, anti wheelie and ABS.
Updated suspension and Big Piston forks will further improve feel and lightweight wheels reduce unsprung weight.
In top gear roll on tests from 50mph to 170mph against an S1000rr my 2008 ended up just 15' behind the BMW - so not sure there is that much wrong with the engine as its torque (maybe power?) figure is higher in 'mid range' than the new crop of litre bikes which is what you want on the road.
Maybe the ultra expensive V4 bike will launch after this as a top end premium bike for mega money, with the Blade undercutting the rivals on price? Perhaps folk have forgotten the world recession ?
I think its good, why not invest in improving a top performing bike and keep price 'reasonable' against rivals to keep sales up?
Looks like they have listened to feedback about current bikes looks, difficult bodywork, simple dashboard and refreshed the other areas. I'll def look for a 9 month old one next autumn.

Re: 2012 CBR 1000RR Fireblade
OH I like it! The only part of the 08-11 blade that I didn't like were the headlights and now honda has heard me. This is perfect!
Plus the new dash looks cool as well.

Re: 2012 CBR 1000RR Fireblade
Have they listened ????
The back still looks awful so you have got to rip it to bits to fit a tail tidy.
The rear pegs still look a nightmare to remove.
The exhaust still isn't the best and will push an aftermarket purchase.
The rear hugger still protects nothing.
How much oil will this one drink ?
Most riders don't care how the fairing comes apart as they get a dealer to work on the bike ( myself included ).
Would I jump on a new one when they become available..........no way.
Don't get me wrong, I love the blade. It doesn't look different enough from mine to make me want to even consider changing though. I do like the new dash, but I still prefer the original Penguin colour scheme on mine.
I suppose the real question is................how much ?

Have to agree with you on most of the points, except for the oil issue, thought it was over moaned about.
