| Re: best Blackbird tyres Yeah, I replaced the Dunlops on my '02 XX with BT020's. Just picked up an '03 XX today, and it came with BT57's. Never tried them before, so I'll give it a shot. |

| Re: best Blackbird tyres I think your tire choice would depend on how you intend to ride.
I've been on 010's for years and never had a problem with grip... but... I wasn't able to get more than 3.5K miles out of a rear.
I have since added a 954 to the stable and don't feel the need to throw the 'Bird around like I have in the past. I use the XX for touring now and would like a bit more mileage from my tires.
I am on my first set of ContiRoadAttacks And they have impressed me so far. Excellent grip with what seems to be a whole lot of added mileage... But... like I've said, this is my first set. 010's under a Squid at Deal's Gap

| Re: best Blackbird tyres Pilot Powers have worked very well on my 954.
7,400 klm so far and I'd guess the rear is good for another 1500.
Excellent grip wet and dry, quick warm up and nice turning characteristics for at least the first 5000 klm.
The rear profile has started to deteriorate in the last 1000 klm or so but I've done a few superslab trips on it. I've also done a couple of track days on them. |

| Re: best Blackbird tyres Has anyone tried the Pirelli Diablo Strada ?
I used the Diablo's on a VTR1000F and found them to be fantastic, except the rear only lasts 5,000 - 6,000km. Yes the twin is hard on tires, but then again I ride it hard |

Dave | Hi Dave
I have a 2004 Blackbird, I have tried some tyre on different bike and the best one I have come accross are the Prelli stadas. I have 6500 miles on these tyres and Im going accross Europe on these tyres. so I will replace them with about 13000 miles on these tyres. If you know what the Irish roads are like you will know that is great life out of the tyres. Since i put those tyres on the bike bike has never stepped out on me in wet or dry. I would recommand these tyres over any other |

| Re: best Blackbird tyres Newbie here, but a long time (6 years, longer than any other bike Ihave ever owned - but now former) Bird owner. I still believe the Bird is the best all around sportsbike out there, but I am looing forward to my 954 which I pick up next week.
Anyhoo, like above, it depends on the riding. I'm not a big fan of the BattleAxe's unless is it a pure touring tire. Toss in some twisties, or general mixed useage, I like a Pilot Road / Pilot Power combination. Next up would be the Avons. |

| Re: best Blackbird tyres Avon Azaro AV45/46 combination - just make sure they're the ones specifically for the Blackbird (they have a "B" suffix - ie. AV45B & AV46B).
They're great in the dry and last forever.
Not too brilliant in the wet though |

| Re: best Blackbird tyres Hey y'all... New here. I stumbled onto this site doing a Google search on Pirelli Diablos! My experinces have been as follows...
Metzeler Z6's and M1/Z6 combo... Great feel and handling... Mileage was good 6-7.5k miles. Perhaps my all around fav on the 'Bird.
Michelin Pilot Roads... Great mileage, but I hated the feel. I swapped 'em out with only 5k miles on 'em. I just didn't feel comfortable with them.
Michelin Pilot Powers... WOW! GREAT feel and handling, but I'm gonna get about 4k miles outta them.
Next Saturday, I'm going to pickup a set of the Pirelli Diablos during the Cycle Gear One Day Sale. I'm hoping that they'll be somewher between the Z6's and the Powers. I'm willing to give up some mileage for the performance.
I know it doesn't exist w/o a pic so... |

| Re: best Blackbird tyres Hi
I have used Pirreli dragons, Dunlop D205, Avon Azaros, Avon Storms, Dunlop Qualifiers, and Dunlop Qualifier RRs,
The best seem to be the Qualifier
The Avon Azaro was amazing in the wet
But the Dunlop Qualifier is loads a fun. |

| Re: best Blackbird tyres I have tried the BattleCracks, the Avom 45/46 and then put on a set of Pirelli Diablo's. Have not looked for anything more since then. Have done Deals Gap, SeXXt, NeXXt, and RedNeXXt and could not be happier with the tires. I also have thenm on my sons 600 and he has never had them step out on him. Liked the Avons until the temp went below 50 degrees and then they turned to grease. JMHO, but get the Pirellis...just the regular Diablo's or the Strada if you really want mileage. Ride Safe |
