| '05 CBR1100XX or '05/'06 VFR800?
I am in need of advice.
I am 6"1' and I am looking at purchasing a 'sports/tourer' to travel around UK and Europe on. I have decided on either the '05 CBR1100XX or '05/'06 VFR800. (unless something is better)
Can any offer advise and I am having problems choosing.
Has anyone owned both of these models at sometime?
Thanks
Ian |

Much more fun and a little bigger bike too. |

Between the other two you listed, VFR. |

| Re: '05 CBR1100XX or '05/'06 VFR800? Funny, I found the XX more comfy than the VFR when I rode them? Mind you I am only 5'11?
I guess that it is all preference. Can't go wrong either way. |

| Re: '05 CBR1100XX or '05/'06 VFR800? The XX has a way longer reach to the bars... so I guess if you're a knuckle-dragger you'd sit upright. |

| Re: '05 CBR1100XX or '05/'06 VFR800? I never found it that bad mind you I have done more than one 1000km plus day on the 1000RR
I am also trying plan a 'round the lake in a 3 day weekend ride after our trip to the gap in the spring. Maybe I should get one of these "sport tourers" ? |

Firstly, I have been keeping a close eye on the K1200s forum and it still had too many teething problems. Some people have zero whilst others have major, ie clutch, drive shafts, etc. Seeing it will be doing a lot of travelling through many different countries, I can't afford it to breakdown.
Secondly, it is more expensive than the Honda's and when I finish travelling the '2007 model should be out and then i may purchase one. |

| Re: '05 CBR1100XX or '05/'06 VFR800? BTW, I am going solo and I have just sold my Honda VTR1000F.
I loved the twin and recently travelled 3500km in 5days, but the fuel ecomony is shocking and was sick of always stopping due to the small fuel tank. |

| Re: '05 CBR1100XX or '05/'06 VFR800? XX over the VFR. Comfy, more power, but alleviate the LBS. |
