| Sound when going over bumps... Hi friends,
I have gotton great advise on this forum before so I thought I would see if anyone has an idea what this noise could be. It's my 2003 Blackbird. I've tried to ignore this all summer but I'm very courious what this sound is. When I go over a bump at slow speeds (10-30mph) I hear a noise that sounds just like a set of keys slapping against the triple tree. If I ride slowly on top of a rumble strip on the side of a highway(continuous bumps) it sounds just like someone shaking a bag of marbles up and down(coming from the triple tree area). All I can think of is that the tumblers in the ignition switch are all loose and flopping around or perhaps there is a broken fork spring or something in one of the forks bouncing up and down;although I think if that were the case I would notice something in the suspension. I was going to unbolt the ignition switch and shake it to see if anything is loose untill I discovered that I would have to grind the bolts off to get it off. It is mounted with bolts where the head of them breaks off when they are torqued down, for theft prevention. Anyway, any thoughts on this is appreciated. Thank you... |
