| Help!!! Ok,
Today I went and did some pre season work on DWC's F4i racebike. Now the damn FI light is on. Here is what I did:
*Replaced the Spark Plugs - Plugs I took out were Denso Iridiums and the Parts guy (which is very knowledgeable and a fellow racer) showed CR9EH-9's on the fiche and we got those. Can you replace Iridiums with standards... As of now, Iridiums will be on order tomorrow.
*Refilled with water/wetter This cant cause any difference.
*Replaced the cam chain tensioner.
The only thing I can think of is that I left a cable unplugged when re-assembling it. Or that the spark plugs make that big of a difference. The bike also smokes a bit now, which I dont understand either. It is a white smoke that comes out when under power. The FI light doesnt come on immediately and doesnt flash it just stays on. I took the tank and airbox off to get to the plugs and to the tensioner. Im currently looking through the repair manual now for a solution, with no luck so far.
Anyone have any thoughts.
Chris

| Re: Help!!! Iridiums are fine. That's what's on my bike. Check all the cable connections? Did you take the fuel tank/airbox off? There's a number of connectors there, check those?
When the FI light flashes, I think there's a code you can refer to in the manual (certain number of flashes in a certain sequence...). |

| Re: Help!!! Just found out that the side stand has to be down to use the codes, so Ill have to take the Jumper off the switch since there isnt even a stand on it.

| Re: Help!!! Similar thing happened on my 954 when I did the pair mod. Forgot to plug the "map sensor" plug into the socket on the right side of the airbox. Lift the tank and have a look, don't even need to open up the airbox

| Re: Help!!! Yeah,
Turns out we left the vaccum hose that connects to the bottom of the MAP sensor unplugged. It had fallen down against the frame and where it plugs in to the sensor is almost impossible to see. Problem is solved!!!
