New Track Bike

Came home yesterday from a family visit to Louisiana, and trailered a new leftover '03 black 600rr back with me.

First order of business is draining some oil out, as that dumb coonass that prep'd the bike over-filled the crankcase.

Next in line will be exchanging the Ohlins shock I bought with my raffle money for one for this bike, thanks to Dan Kyle's extraordinarily accommodating business practices.

Stainless brake lines, track plastics, exhaust, and a Dan Kyle job on the front forks round off the list.

Re: New Track Bike

the ohlins swap is a bitch my man... That right side front bolt on the shock tower is hell to get to. You are *supposed* to remove the exhaust, F THAT! I got it on and off without doing it, so can you...

Other than that, its the easiest swap I've done on a bike... Congrats on the new ride!

Re: New Track Bike

Thanks for the tip, CC. Maybe I can time the shock swap with the exhaust swap, make things a little less tedious.

Which bike(s) are you offering?

I have to tell you, there was a brand new leftover '02 954 sitting on the showroom floor that REALLY tempted me as I waited for the 600rr to be prep'd. My last 4 bikes have been liter bikes, and it took a bit of pride swallowing to "step down" to a 600.

Hmmm... you can spit that pride right out after acquiring my 02 954... Heck I'll even toss in that POS Remus exhaust you sold to me.
