Will an F3 shock fit on an F2?

Will the rear shock off of an f3 fit onto an F2? The f2 shocks are pretty much sh@t, even in 94 when they did the upgrade. Will the f3 shock slide into the f2 brackets? If it will fit, what is it going to do to the ride height, setup, etc.

thx,

Yup, it will fit right in there. It shouldn't make a damned bit of difference if you had a '94 F2 shock in there before, as it is the same unit.

Re: Will an F3 shock fit on an F2?

The F3 shock will slip right into an F2. The guys at Penske tell me the F3 shock is a bit longer than the F2 (I don't remember now, it's been too long, but 1/8" sticks in my mind), but that's all goodness anyway since the F2 really benefits from a bit of additional ride height in my experience.

If you can afford it, take a look at a good aftermarket shock. There are always several running through eBay at any given time. Look at the pictures, ask questions, and be careful. I've done pretty well in that market and can tell you for a fact that a Fox or Penske (I've had both) shock will make a noticeable difference in the handling of your F2. If you do this, be careful to get a proper weight spring on the unit you buy or figure another $100 on the purchase price.

The shock's going on my girlfriend's F2. The stock shock has turned to mush. I've looked at a couple of the aftermarket shocks, but for the riding she's doing, I think I can get away with a good stock spring.

Thanks
