Re: f3 timing chain tensioner????

I just didi it on a F4i, so I wouldnt expect it to be alot different.

Remove Tank and airbox

Tensioner should be located on the right side of the motor. When you get the new one from Honda, it will come with a "key" in the back of it. Leave it in there as it is what preloads the spring in the tensioner. Before you remove the old one, you need to remove the screw that sticks out from the center of the old one. This will go in the new one. Remove the 2 bolts holding the tensioner in and take the old one out. If any of the gasket sticks to the engine, you will need to carefully scrape it off making sure it doesnt go into the hole in the engine there. Put the new gasket and tensioner in and torque to spec. Once torqued, remove the key out of the back and you will hear it snap. Replace the screw you took out of the old one into the new one, and put everything back on.

Like I said, this is the procedure for an F4i, so a few details may be off.
