New CBR600RR revealed
Honda will reveal a revamped CBR600RR this September with reworked brakes, upside-down forks and Blade-inspired styling.
Insiders who have already ridden the new bike reveal more in MCN, out on Wednesday June 23, 2004.
The brakes have radial calipers and smaller discs on the new model and the engine gets modified internals. Expect titanium valves, too.
The CBR600RR was first launched at the end of 2002, drawing inspiration from Honda's RCV MotoGP bike. Read more about the it by following the link to related bikes.

| Re: '05 600rr anyone have access to MCN? USD forks will be heavier too most likely.
The smaller discs will take out unsprung weight, it'll turn-in easier. Don't know what they mean by "blade styling", the blade pretty much copied the 600RR... |

| Re: '05 600rr anyone have access to MCN? They both copied the RC211V styling. The 600RR resembles the old RC211V, while the 1000RR resembles the new version.
It should probably read that the 600RR will again copy the RC211V with updated styling. |

| Re: '05 600rr anyone have access to MCN? if that is indeed a close representation of what the '05 600RR will resemble, I like it! It looks good...nice to see Honda join the crowd and place radial brakes and USD forks on the update model....I'd be interested in knowing what changes are gonna be made to the engine and chassis as well.....NICE!

| Re: '05 600rr anyone have access to MCN? I think they should keep bigger discs with the radial brakes. Can never have braking that is too good in my view.
I too prefer the 600RR styling to the 1000RR, but I guess we will have to wait and see..

| Re: '05 600rr anyone have access to MCN? What amazes me is that when the 600RR first arrived, Honda told us that they didn't go with upside down forks coz they tested them and the conventional forks work better on the 600. What a load of **** that was then huh.
Unless they have found a different set up etc that changed that, but still......... |

| Re: '05 600rr anyone have access to MCN? The bike looks the same to me...guess I notice the forks upside down.
In truth, Honda(all!!!)mfgs. should work to reduce weight. My bike has plenty of power...if only 15lbs. less weight....hmmmm...would be a blast!!!!!! |

Unless they have found a different set up etc that changed that, but still......... | Your average street squid will buy a bike with USD forks and radial brakes just because it has USD FORKS AND RADIAL BRAKES... Its deemed better so in a consumer's world, the consumer wants to buy what is supposedly "better"... my guess is honda is just following the trend to sell bikes, whether they believe it to be better or not... |
