The search begins

Well its that time to start to find a new ride. Well not start to research but actually start to look around and see what prices and availability there is.

After much much much debate and conversation on this board as well as with a bunch of others I have finally decided to get an F4i. Seems like the best of both worlds to me... something that I can ride the twisties with as well as get to the twisties (which in itself is usually most of the ride )

Anywho what kind of prices are you guys finding on 01 & 02 F4i's around you. Around here they vary but usually hover around $6000 - $6500. I am probably going to wait for winter but hopefully something pops up before next season.

Also I know that 600's are alot harder to pull power out of but what kind of ways are there to get some extra power besides the obvious full pipe and pc3 combo? Timing advance.....

to all who listened to me babble for the past yr and helped answer all my many many many questions.... Tom

I'll sell you my 929 for that. Kick ass over a 600, good in the twisties and has good power.

Sweet. I'm ready to see a Honda in your avatar.

Not sure how close these are to you, but here are some results from Craigslist.org

Also check out Cycle Trader. There are a few F4i's listed in the NorthEast. Saw one with seemingly light cosmetic damage for $4800 in NH.

Re: The search begins

Like I said Nomad it varies b/c if you can find a private owner i have seen people pay under 6 but its hard to find a stock bike in great shape.

What are you trying to say dB that there is something wrong with Yamaha I used to be able to turn to chain for backup but he up and left for the european market. I am looking forward to getting a new bike hopefully one that has had the CCT done already

Looking forward to the update myself.. This bike has done its job and was fun up till now but its starting to get a little scary riding especially when we go for spirited rides
