1st Track Day on the 600RR

Hot diggity damn! This 600RR is freaking awesome on the track. I have no complaints whatsoever about the handling, power and brakes of this bike on the track. I would think turn and the thing would turn in without any problems. Coming down the straight I opened up the throttle and the thing would just haul ass down the straights. It put down the power so smoothly, it was incredible. When it was time to scrub off speed for the turn, the brakes worked great without any type of fade throughout the day.

Comparing the 600RR to the 954 track wise, for ME it's hands down the 600RR. I struggled with the overwhelming power and slow steering of the 954, but no types of problems with the 600RR. I know I am comparing apples and oranges, but I am just so happy that I moved down to the 600RR to ride the track.

If any of you are thinking about moving down to the 600RR from a 954 for track duty. Don't hesitate to do it. You definitely won't regret it. I had 5x the fun on the 600RR than the 954!

If you don't mind, how much do you weigh geared up?

I believe base weight (no gear) is 145 lbs. and geared up is 155 lbs. (I think I'm about 5'8"). I'm just guessing, but I think that's pretty close.

Why do you ask? Do you think that b/c I'm such a light weight the bike moves well steering and speed wise?

Don't have any pics. However my buddy took video footage of me with my camera this past weekend up at Summit Point Jefferson Circuit. I'll pull some frames and post them up before the week is out!

Re: 1st Track Day on the 600RR

If I had the $$$ to do at least 1 trackday/month, I would definitely get a 600cc bike. I'm broke so I'll keep my bike and continue to do 2-3 trackdays a year.

That's no fair! You are cheating!! I'm dropping some weight, but will never be that small. Less weight is good for most aspects of riding. Less weight = more HP I've heard .

Congrats again on the new Baby Blade. Where's the pics from the track day
