Looking for rearsets

Anyone here put on a set of rearsets on there F4i??

I have an 01 that I have been riding the past 2 years and I have been getting the bike over a lot more now in the turns and I have hit the pegs and my boots a few times.. I am also looking to get the bike on the track this summer so I can use the extra ground clearance.

Re: Looking for rearsets

I haven't put them on an F4i, but I've put them on my 929. Check out the ones made by these companies: Protek, Harris, Woodcraft, Vortex, and Gilles. They all make sets for the F4i. Also look into getting your suspension set up, as getting the proper sag will also help with ground clearance issues. You may need new fork springs. I'm not sure if the stock springs are too soft like they are on the 929/954, but I'd assume they probably are.

I have Vortex ones on my 600RR...they look good, otherwise I don't have much feedback since I haven't ridden on them yet.

I have them on my double R too. They are stiff and sturdy when shifting. In the highest position, I can lean and lean and lean................

I've heard of those guys, but never been there. The guys here on the forum like Dan Kyle's work, so I removed my forks and shipped them to Dan in CA a couple of seasons ago. He put the right springs in them and did his magic revalving on them. Night and day difference. I have an Ohlins on the rear and am happy with it.

In her mind track = speed and she knows him well enough to know he is not all there at times ESPECIALLY after a 1/2 bottle of captain

Well, I'd hope he has the sense to not go riding after drinking. And he wouldn't be allowed on the track. There's no open alcohol at any track events, even for spectators, until the last bike has come off the course at the end of the day. Not that I think your friend would do this...

How long did it take to have the front forks worked on over at Dan Kyle.. Which springs did u go with? I see he has Ohlins and Race Tech spings to pick from.. How much did the whole job run you?

Dan's turnaround time was a week or two. Sometimes it can be as little as a few days. Depends on how busy he is. A phone call will answer that (don't email, it's best to call). He charges $100 for the new springs and uses either Racetech or Ohlins (he says both are about the same, performance-wise). Then, he charges $330 for the revalve and polishing, which is what helps just as much as the correct spring. So, for about $430 plus shipping, you'll have reworked front forks that work within 90% of the Ohlins forks, for a fraction of the price (according to guys who have used both. I haven't used Ohlins forks). When you talk to him, tell him how much you weigh and he'll tell you what spring rate to go with. If you've looked at the Racetech chart on the internet, don't go by that, as they typically recommend springs that are too light. Go with what Dan says. He knows his stuff!

Edit: I have the Racetech springs, that's what he was stocking at the time.

Edit: I forgot you have an F4i, not a 929/954. Dan doesn't list revalving under that bike on his website. I'd call him and see if he does any work on those forks, and see what he'd recommend. He may not revalve those, I'm not sure.
