| Honda Wins Sport Rider Middleweight Comparo Somewhat surpisingly, the CBR600RR won the latest comparison in the April issue of Sport Rider magazine. Like most of these comparisons, they said the bikes were all very close, but the Honda barely edged out the ZX-6R.
Interesting too that it seems like just yesterday that the Gixxer 600 was updated and was the one to beat (last year). Now they said it "shows its age." Wow. Amazing how fast that happens with modern sportbikes. |

| Re: Honda Wins Sport Rider Middleweight Comparo I seen another comparo where the 600rr won the track portion, but the R6 won the overall due to it being better on the street etc....when was the last time the CBR600 won a track comparo.. |

| Re: Honda Wins Sport Rider Middleweight Comparo The March Two Wheels Only magazine said it was a tie between the Honda and the Suzuki. Road Racing World had the Kawasaki in first place (barely!) over the Honda.
Sounds like it's a matter of rider preference, and how much one plans to use it on the track vs. the street.

| Re: Honda Wins Sport Rider Middleweight Comparo I'm waiting for one of the local squids to total his '05 600RR while doing something stupid like videotaping a canyon run.
My new track bike is out there. |

| Re: Honda Wins Sport Rider Middleweight Comparo Yes, very close competition. Although I love all these new 600cc (and 636cc) class of bikes, they are getting more and more expensive. Damn, $8,600 and more for some of these bikes! That's more than I paid for my 929, granted that was a couple years ago. One of the dealers told me he can't keep the 636s on the floor, as a matter of fact, he said other dealers were calling him up to see if they had any 636s to give up. I think the ZX6R will again be the highest selling 600 class bike. Not an opinion, just a fact.
And I was also a little surprised at the weight of the 600cc class. Isn't 427lbs getting close to the liter class weight? |
