tilt sensor?

Ok well since I bought a used bike it had a few scratches on the nose fairing so I took the nose off and Im preparing to swap it with a 05 nose, so this will end up as a two part question?

First, is there tilt sensor on the headlight assembly? cause I noticed that my FI doesnt kick in when my headlight is just hanging there, the FI kicks back in when I prop the headlight unit up in the same spot.

and also is there any kind of problems that I will run into when I install the 05 nose on a 03 600RR?

thanks
Mark

Re: tilt sensor?

Yes, the bank sensor is mounted to the headlight and it is a pain to remove.

Never tried swapping the nose so I can't help you with that one.

Re: tilt sensor?

Just make sure it sits at the same angle in relation to the bike on the new fairing.

Re: tilt sensor?

I know the windscreen and little center light are different on an 05 from the older ones. are the headlights interchangeable?

All the plastics are new. I just don't know if they changed mounting points or not.

Re: tilt sensor?

its some sort of safety feature most bikes have, so when you dump the bike it will shut it off automaticly. Prevents it from going anywhere I guess

Re: tilt sensor?

Ah, thanks. That makes sense. I guess with fuel injection and all the electric components it's best to get things shut down immediately.
Thanks again!
