| Damn tank cover How in the heck do I get the tank cover off my 600RR? I've taken all the bolts(at least all that I can see)and the fugger won't come off. Now this afternoon I have to get my race plastics set up. Oh I'm not looking forward to this. |

| Re: Damn tank cover There are 2 bolts in the front by the triple and 2 in the back under the seat. The rubber seal around the gas tank helps to keep it in place too so you kinda have to pull on it to get it off. |

| Re: Damn tank cover There are also two bolts on each side, near the front. You'll see them once you remove the "ram air covers". |

| Re: Damn tank cover If you're lifting the tank, there are two more large bolts on each side that secure it. Remove those and it pivots up. You can use a bungie to hold the tank up. I run it from one of the holes at the front of the tank, to one of the hooks that the rear seat locks into:
First pic here: Hmm.... Make sure you pull the hoses out of the "clip" down by the kickstand before raising the tank, so they can move up freely with it. |

It's a little tight, but quite "do-able". When I had my 600RR, I took it off to take out the rear tail light multiple times. As far as mounting a race tail and taking off the undertail, I got no idea. |

| Re: Damn tank cover It's a company called E-Fairings or something like that. I guess they use Sharkskinz molds for them. The stocker came off no problem, I did that like 8 times on my first RR and I remember how much it sucks. |

This stuff is thick and doesn't flex too much, so I can't get the damn tailsection on. I tried removing the undertray/undertail, but that fugger won't budge. |

Are you saying you got the undertray off and still can't get it on? If so...apply some muscle.. When you hear it cracking...apply more. |

| Re: Damn tank cover For some reason the undertray won't come off. I removed all the bolts and screws and took the trunk release cable out, which I'm sure is gonna be fun snaking back through thathole. The thing just won't come off. |

I was talking about the race tail being very hard to get on/off without taking the undertray off. |
