What a PITA! Don't try this without a Dremmel or if you are a beginner. I wasn't sure $30 for a ring of plastic and 2 pages of instructions was worth it, but I guess you're paying for their R&D. Any way, after taking the airbox off, disconnecting the linkage from the throttle bodies, dissassembling and test assembling the throttle many times, and running out of daylight I finally completed the mod. It probably wouldn't have been such an issue for me, but most of my power tools, Dremmel included, were buried in a crate at the back of our garage.
To make the mod work you have to clearance the inside of the throttle housing to allow for the larger diameter cable spool. I tried it with a knife and needle nose pliers first, but after putting the throttle housing back together 3 times and still feeling major drag on the cable I dove in and dug out the dremmel. It works great now. But putting everything back together in the dark while holding a flashlite in your mouth sucks. |

| Re: BRG 1/5 throttle install How about adding epoxy to the channel and readjusting the cables so you have a 1/5 throttle. I bet it would cost less than $5 and still look stock. |
