As it says, almost 4800 miles on my 600RR since September, all running beautifully, and Monday morning the bike just won't start. I lost a half-day of work arranging for the HRC towtruck then two days and $80 later the dealer tells me the problem is clogged fuel injectors(s). The bike's been getting the normal 87 octane that the manual calls for... the service guy suggested the clog was dirt and to run more expensive fuel. As far as I've known, dirty fuel is dirty fuel and more expensive fuel is higher octane, the two concepts being unrelated.
The clog was uncovered by either warranty and called "maintanence".
I've got no interest in this becoming a "normal" thing, particularly since this is my primary commute vehicle. Is there a normal FI cleaner regimen that can be recommended? My 14 year old car has never had a problem with this. It sure has more get up and go now that it's all cleaned out
