So that's why you needed a stator cover bolt!
Hey, just think how nice it's gonna be when you get it all put back together.

I had them tied up to my triples while the forks were out. I'll be installing new brake lines so I'm not worried about those anymore.

I probably will ditch the horn. Not sure if I comfortable without the fan...
How are you mounting your bank sensor? Will you have an aftermarket fairing stay?

You'll always be moving faster on the track than the fan can pull. It will only be impeding your airflow. They're great for when the bike is sitting still or moving at a sheep's pace, but in the way on race bikes.

Look at the back of your fairing stay behind the gauges. There's two nubs at exactly the right width and angle for you to drill and tap to holes and mount it there. Perfect location.

Haven't had a desire to street ride since early 2004. Touring is fun, and I will get back to that...but not on this bike.

But without a horn I won't be able to hear his whiny little engine and he will have to stay at my pace

The stand is pitbull
If you're using the stock fairing stay you can drill and tap the two tabs that stick out the front. They're perfectly spaced for the tip sensor. Here's a pic

Yea, my F3 didn't have a fan and it seen in the low 100s at WSIR. Just had to remember to not sit there with it running if there was a delay etc...or be prepared for steam. |

Installed brake lines today. What a PITA. Probably my least favorite thing to do on a bike. Ended up having to use OEM banjo bolts 'cuz I torqued the one Galfer bolt to OEM spec by mistake. Problem with that is, OEM spec happens to be double what Galfer recommends so the bolt promptly snapped in half Good thing it didn't break off in the caliper and I could get it out w/o any trouble.
Only thing left at this point is to put oil in the crank case(and make sure the case covers aren't leaking ), safety wire(not looking forward to this) and bodywork which should FINALLY be here sometime next week.

I did that same thing. Galfer puts the torque number in small, teeny tiny print that noone sees until after the fact. That's okay though, I'd rather use the stronger OEM bolts. I just wanted to let you know you are not the only one!

You're working in an uninsulated garage in these temps? Hope you had a bigass heater...

The garage is about 80% insulated. The ceiling already has the drywall on too.
And I had one of these guys to keep me warm |
