Brake fluid

I ordered the galfer ss lines, pads and Motul 5.1 Brake Fluid. I looked through my service manual and noticed i use dot 4. is the 5.1 an acceptibal replacement?

Not exactly. DOT 3 and 4 are compatible, and you can use DOT 5.1 in a DOT 3 or 4 system as well. However, you can NEVER use DOT 5 in a system that calls for DOT 3 or 4, as the DOT 5 is silicone based. If you put DOT 5 in a system calling for DOT 3 or 4, it's gonna ruin stuff.

Yep, thats what he used Motul 5.1. Like HGT said, Never use DOT5 in anything but HD
