| Subframe swap? Hello
Does anyone know if a 97-98 F3 subframe fit on a 96 F3?

| Re: Subframe swap? Is is all the exact same frame, but they aren't bolt-on units. The subframe is welded into the main frame on the F2/F3, so you'd have to cut it off and weld the other on. |

| Let me re-phrase my question? Will the rear body work of a 1998 CBR 600 F3 fit on the subframe of a 1996 CBR 600 F3? |

| Re: Let me re-phrase my question? I don't think the subframe is any different on the F3 models. Should bolt right up AFAIK.

| Re: Let me re-phrase my question? Absolutely, it is the same motorcycle with a few tweaks that didn't involve the frame at all. The seat of the '97/'98 was shaped slightly differently down at the tank edge - it dropped down lower, so if you don't want a tiny gap visible then grab a '97/'98 seat as well. But the tail itself snaps right ont place and the lights plug into the same place. |

| Re: Subframe swap? totally unrelated, but I think the 2005-2006 600RR subframe mounts to the 2003-2004 frame as it does on the 2005-2006, allowing the use of the new 2005-2006 exhausts on the 2003-2004. Of course, this is from an unproven source. But it is something I've been told... |

| Re: Subframe swap? I think you will need the little metal braket that holds the plastic above the tail light. I'm pretty sure there differant cause the 97-98 is taller above the tail light but it should bolt right up to the frame it self. |
