| Steering Damper Required? Do those of you riding the CBR600RR on track days find that a steering damper is: not needed, useful, or required? Adding it to items to prep a 600 for upcoming track days. |

| Re: Steering Damper Required? It's a stable bike. I don't know if I'd say it's a requirement, but I can't say I felt 100% comfortable without it. |

| Re: Steering Damper Required? I haven't put one on yet. It is a requirement for racing, but I wanted to ride the bike without it a couple times to get a feel for it. I also ran the first track day with stock front lines.
The OEM brakes worked great, although it was a cold day. That said, the lines have now been swapped out.
I also never felt any need for the damper. Then again, the track is very smooth, I have different bars adjusted differently from stock and I am not noodly. That said, I will be adding one just to be safe and to comply with the rules.
So you picked one up, eh? Where are the pics? |

| Re: Steering Damper Required? I never had one on my F4i, but I've had a few instances where it might come in handy on the 600RR. Since my F4i days the CMRA (as well as most other clubs) have required it so I picked one up for the baby RR. |

| Re: Steering Damper Required? Put it this way... If the steering wiggles back and forth a fraction of what you're doing regarding this purchase, you'll need two...
If you get it in time for Putnam, you'll know if you need one for Grattan. |

Seriously I am all about protective devices, the riding is hazardous enough without taking unnecessary risks.

| Re: Steering Damper Required? I would say that is not 100% need, but I have had some head shakes were I have found it very useful. I do mainly trackdays, but if I was going to race I would make it a must have part than. I view mine, like an investment towards safety. |

I actually spelled "mat" with the e for "mate" before I published it without the e, I've always supported the mate over mat. |
