I went out to start my bike today and the starter just kept clicking! I know that it's out. Anyone have a used starter they wanna sell? Any ideas for replacing it? Is it bad to buy a rebuilt one over a new one? I've got a '94 CBR 600 F2 with 10.8K on it.

If the starter is just clicking why do you so quickly assume that it's dead???
Normally you will get a clicking noise when the battery power is extremely low.

Check the voltage on the battery with a meter, if it is too low you can try charging it. If it will not take, or hold a charge replace it. But start with the battery then go to the starter. |

Oh wow do I feel dumb. As soon as I got a new battery put in (the old one WAS at 10.7V) I tried starting it and realized the kill switch was off. I can't believe for the life of me that I didn't notice it...nice to know it works i guess...*sigh* go ahead, start with the insults! |

It's the simple problems that cause us the biggest headaches at times. There's no reason to feel embarassed.
