Shorter Kick Stand I put a lowering kit on my wifes 05 600 RR last year and I didn't alter the kick stand and know it stands almost straight up and down when she uses it. Is there anywhere that I can buy a shorter one, or should I just trim her stock one down some?

Re: Shorter Kick Stand We trimmed my wife's down. I cut a section out, used a piece of rebar inside the hollow tube to help support it, and then had it welded and painted. Looks stock.

| Re: Shorter Kick Stand It will depend on how much you lowered the bike. We went with a 3" drop, and had to remove basically all the section between the foot, and the bar that sticks out that you use to push the kickstand down.

Re: Shorter Kick Stand Yes, thats what we do also, have someone cut it with a wheel and reweld it. Conq had a good idea with the rebar inside it, but we dont use it when we do it for drag racers. Schnitzracing.com might also sell it, but it will be cheaper having it cut.

Re: Shorter Kick Stand Yeah, you wouldn't want to use rebar if you're interested in saving weight. I just wanted the extra security.

Re: Shorter Kick Stand I was getting ready to take the kick stand off when I thought about the angle the the kickstand will have when I cut it off. Do I need to add any angle to it or will it be O.K.? I don't want it to stand up more, I will need it to lean more. Do you have any problem with yours being unstable after cutting it down?

Re: Shorter Kick Stand Nope. When you lower the bike, cutting a section from the kick stand sort of equalizes it to where it still leans and remains stable.
