| Re: lowering a 600 A lower dogbone and slide the forks up the triples.
You can also get an adjustable rear shock and have the front forks cut, resprung, and revalved. |

My bike came lowered (and I am trying to do the opposite). |

I am new to the sport so i really have nothing to compare it to. i have only been riding for 6 months now. it corners great in my opinion and i have had it up to 75 and it appears to be very stable. the front and the rear of the bike were lowered about 2".
that is my take on it.

| Re: lowering a 600 If you don't need it to be lowered, you really should return it to the stock height. Honda spent lots of money on R&D. |

| Re: lowering a 600 once you get better you'll want that ground clearance back. being 6'3" there's no reason to have it lowered (except drag racing).
I used an engine hoist to hold the back of the bike up.

| Re: lowering a 600 thanks for the suggestions. I really appreciate it . I wish I would have done some research on this before I got this first bike but I guess that is how you learn. I never really thought that much about it but you are right about the R&D spent to perfect the machine why would you want to change that. Do you think that lowering the bike could make the bike unsafe? Now I am getting concerned about this the more I read and learn about it.

| Re: lowering a 600 you need a lowering link to drop the rear. look at diamond power sports, schnitz, they them. then loosen triple clamps and drop front to desired height. |

| Re: lowering a 600 nothing really unsafe about lowering the bike. just be careful you don't hit any really big potholes or speed bumps and bottom the bike out.

I needed that. I really was beginning to think that this was going to be unsafe and being a new rider that would be the last thing I would want is to be riding an unsafe bike. I honestly have not had any unstability issues in turning like I have read occurs from a lowered bike. But since this is my first bike I really have had nothing to compare it to.
thanks again for your input. |
