| Buying an 03 F4i I'm looking at a 2003 CBR 600 F4i with 9k miles. The guy is willing to take $5k for it. He says the rear wheel needs to be replaced. He hasn't gotten any service done on it, but has changed the oil every 3k miles.
Is that a reasonable price? I've checked KBB and NADAguides, but they have big ranges.
Oh, the front sprocket was replaced with a one-down, the exhaust is shortened, and it's got a custom paint job. |

| Re: Buying an 03 F4i i bought my 01 last year for 4500.00 with 8k on the clock and felt i paid to much.
Look at the blue book retail and the wholesale and divide by 2. that is were you should start.
I'd get a bike with the stock paint job. take the fairings of and take a close look at he frame. be a little wary of bikes that have custom paint and anything polished. I'd look for an RR 600 if i were you. the f4i is great but for a couple of hundred more you can get the newer stuff. |

That should run me about $100, but will save me in the long run, I imagine.
KBB trade-in is 3915 and retail is 5675, which averages to 4795. I thought I was getting a great deal because he asked for $5500, I threw out $5k, and he jumped at it. Maybe I'll try to talk him down... |

| Re: Buying an 03 F4i You can find '03 600RRs in that price range.
The absolute max I would pay for an '03 F4i in good condition is ~$3800.
For one that sounds like a stunt bike (shortened exhaust gives it away) I wouldn't go over $3K. |

| Re: Buying an 03 F4i Custom paint job and shortened exhaust. Sounds like it has been stunted and crashed. I wouldn't pay a penny over $3k for that bike. And that's if everything else checks out ok. |

Tooth, paint, and stubby exhaust gives it away. Don't buy a used stunt bike, unless you're going to thrash it further in that regard.
$5000 ? NO WAY. Go shopping for the 600rr for that price.
