Anyone running a 190 rear? I have a chance to pick up some Pirelli SuperCorsa Pros with low laps for cheap. Only problem is the rears are 190's. Would this significantly affect the handling on the track?

Everyone that I've heard running a 190 on a 600 has been running the Dunlops. 190/60 or something of the sort. Most if not all the fast guys out here seem to be running them (Dunlop's the most prevalent rubber used at the club races out here).

That's interesting. Of course I didn't race last year or this year, but in 2004 Dunlop was the minority here. Mostly Pirelli and Michelin.

I was running a 240 on my 600 when I crashed. Could that have been part of the problem?

No, it was definately rider error.

There were so many parts to your problem that any single one is really inconsequential when considered alone.

You're probably right, but a 240 rear tire and a 10"-over swingarm kinda make a 100mph turn a little difficult, even on a bike as lithe as the 600rr.

The Michelin bandwagon had to add a couple extra cars around here.
Them: Ooooh, look - they're dual compound!! Harder in the middle!!!
Me: Uh, yeah.....so WTF would you need (or even want) that in a race tire?
Them: :blank stares: Because they are Powers, man......teh coolest!! Everyone is using them!!

But yeah, not many Dunlop runners around these parts. Mostly Michelin, then Pirelli with Dunlop and Bridgestone on a few of the guys.

Forgot about Bridgestone. Also popular here. Part of it may be that our Michelin vendor is a great guy and very helpful. I wasn't around for the dual-compound stuff.

I have had problems with Some Dual Compounds, the Front type had cupping on the soft edges. Most likely the suspension though.

hey if the WSBK guys can run a 200 on a 1000 then why wouldn't you be able to run a 190 on a 600.

The BT002's? They're ok...I liked my Diablo Corsa better. The BT's tend to slide a little.
