Turning F3 into track bike

Well I want to turn my F3 into a track bike. It would be awesome to take the 954 but I need track experience and dont want to crash it. I was wondering what the advantages of making the bike naked versus keeping the fairings. The open areas would be great to do maintenece/repairs. I was thinking basically no fairings, different headlight and bracket, gauges gone besides temp and tach and just removing extra parts for weight and clean up wires/hoses.

If you are going to make it a track bike. Forget about the headlight.

Re: Turning F3 into track bike

Why not just ride the 954 when friends are around and make the F3 a straight track bike?

Re: Turning F3 into track bike

I meant for friends to ride if their bike is broke. Id like to make it a straight track bike but Id like to have a backup of sorts.

Oh. I see what you're saying now.

In that case, I'd put a complete set of track plastic on it and keep the stock upper fairing/headlight assembly. You can switch out the upper fairly quickly (<30min) if someone needs to borrow it and you won't smash your headlights if you do fall down.
