Oil suggestions for first change

I am going to be doing my first oil change after break-in. I'm looking for suggestions on whether or not to run a full synthetic. Wondering if there are advantages or downfalls for them.

Don't go to synth quite yet. Wait until at least the next service.

For my first service I used Pro Kawasaki mineral oil. Same **** as the Honda stuff, but about $10 cheaper for a gallon.

Snake oil! Or you could do what the factories do when they rebuild a race bike (hint: it is not snake oil; hint2: it is the same stuff they run when racing)

Damn Phobe, on the money again IMHO.

You'll read about parts seating with each other, tolerances and such. Whether this is a modern consideration is debatable. I just know what's worked for me, and I have a strong pulling motor at about 10k as new with running non-synth oil for first 2 changes. I did one at 500, and 1 at 1000. I just couldn't look at the sparkly "milk" after 500 and feel good about it. I also ran my engine hard, FWIW.

This topic can spark a debate of which isn't seen here outside of the 'Politics' or 'Religion' forum, and is usually food for "THE VORTEX".
