front end

whats up. i think i'm in the market for a 600RR. i have noticed one of the biggest upgrades on the 05-06 models is the front end. inverted forks and radial brakes. could i buy an 03 and swap out the front end, i know i would need the triples as well but is the steering head the same size and could i use the front wheel?

Re: front end

I cant garauntee it but I would say theres a pretty good chance the headstock area of the frame is the same between the 03-04 and 05-06 600RR's (the stems are the same diameter) so as long as the head stock is the same length a front end swap wont present too much of a problem (even if there is a moderate difference in length there are still ways around it, other than having another stem machined up which is also an option).

Hope this helps

Cheers Jai

Re: front end

Yes, just buy a complete '05/'06 front end (triples, forks, calipers, etc.). It will bolt right up and into place. The wheels are also the same between the models, just a different shade of black.
The '05/'06 also has a slightly different frame, subframe and a longer swingarm, among quite a few other things.
