Just bought a 96 F3 Question vibrating front end.

Hi,

I just bought a 96 cbr 600 f3 for $2k The bike has 39k miles but seems to run nice and strong. However when im coming to a stop after press on the front brake (only when i press firmly) the bike dips forwards and i feel a pulsating sensation. Im not sure if this is brake related or something like a bearing or something in the forks. Can anyone shed any light on the most probable situation im experiencing and the costs involved in repairing it?

I would describe it as a pulsating sensation with a bit of a bumping friction. If i slow down normally with back brakes and light front brakes i dont experience only when i come to a sudden stop and give the front brake more of a firm squeeze.

It could be a combination of things, but most likely it's your brake pads and/or rotors causing the pulsing you're feeing.

sounds like the rotors are either glazed, or warped a bit.

Did you fix it? My guess would be warped rotors. But if you are replacing the rotors for warpage you might as well replace the pads at the same time. Using used pads on a new rotors can sometimes groove the rotor causing the possible problem of warping the new rotors, or really shitty wear.
