| Re: New Family Member!!!! Come see Okay Well here is the story..... A very close friend of mine just left for Iraq for a year and plans on buying a Harley (  ) when he gets back. Wellllll his wife wants to learn to ride and wants her own bike, so they enlisted my help. I said it would be best to start on something small (ninja 500) (honda F4I) so we go bike shopping for her. She hates them both and anything that is close to those. Well she saw the 600RR sitting over yonder and was drawn to it. I said NO WAY!  But it was thier money and that was about all the say I had in the situation. So they bought it. Well after all the explaining about how it is a bad Idea for her to start on a 600RR (and I only say that because I know her, I know some woman can handle starting on a 600RR) So anyways we came to the agreement that she will not touch the new RR until she has the Absolute Beginners MSF course and the Basic MSF course under her belt and then and only then will we go to the Arizona Honda parking lot and teach her to use HER bike. then once we are comfortable with her progress, we shall move on to the Advanced MSF course and then the Expert Course.All in all they both agreed to that and I have the bike for the time being to do the break-in correctly and get it ready for her. (frame sliders, bar end sliders, suspension set-up, etc...) Basically I stressed the importance of safety and knowledge, and since they saw me in the ICU last year after my accident, they listen to me and respect my advice. |

Come see No Actually the dealer said not to baby it for 600 miles, rather to make sure i hit all RPM ranges as much as possible in every gear  Oh well I will just be cool with it and not let it sit at one RPM for too long. And yes I do wish all my friends would hand over thier brand new bike for me to break in! I went and got myself Full coverage insurance on thier bike too, They said thier Ins. will cover me if something happened but I am not taking that chance! |
