I have decided to convert my 1991 F2 into a 1998 F3. I just bought a NOS tank for $35 (I know can you believe it?), and am starting to get everything else.

A few questions though... Will the old fairing stay work? And is there anything else I should look out for? Thanks guys.

The fairing stays are slightly different. The F2 stay may work, I don't know.
Most of the rest should bolt right on up. The tail section and seat are different, and the little bracket that holds the brake light and the top rear of the tail cowl is different as well.

Cool I just bought both rear cowls (NOS also) and the joiner (NOS) for the bike... Now I need the seat, sides, upper, and ?????

Okay here is another question... Will the Targa 1 piece upper work with the rear pieces from a 1998 F3 and F2 Targa lowers? Meaning will the below list work? Thank you for all the input so far by the way.

The parts:

1. 1998 Rear Cowl (all three pieces)
2. 1998 Rear Fender
3. 1998 Seat
4. Targa Lowers 91-94
5. Targa Upper 91-94
6. 91-94 Upper Fairing Stay
7. F2 Front Fender

If this helps anyone i just found out the factory F3 tail will mate to the Targa F2 lowers.

The targa once piece upper shouldn't have anything to do with how the rear tail sections mount. I'm not sure if your f2 lowers will work for the f3 uppers. That me be something you'll need to look into.
