Fireblade Fairing on F2

I just bought a CBR900RR fairing that was made to fit the 1991-1994 F2's. Does anybody have nay information on the kit or the actual conversion?

I do recall that you had to get the 900rr headlights. Where did you get this kit? I think it was advertised in Motor Cyclist like 14 years ago, but I don't remember the company that made it.

Re: Fireblade Fairing on F2

I won it on Ebay. The guy bought it and primed it for paint but never mounted it the bike. So now I have an upper but no lowers. I'm going to send it out for paint but have no idea what the lowers and the upper are going to cost to paint.

I'm also trying to figure out if the lowers from an F3 will match up to the F2 upper.

The F3 lowers will not work with the F2 upper.

Re: Fireblade Fairing on F2

Well at this point I have bought two Targa (F2 lowers). I bought an F3 taillight but can't figure out how to mount the bracket... Is the undertray different from the F2 and F3?

Re: Fireblade Fairing on F2

Depends which version of the F3 you went with.
The '95/'96 F3 tail is identical to the F2 tail. The '97/'98 F3 tail is entirely different.

You're right but I thought he was talking about the lower side fairings. The undertray is prolly the same situation. The whole 95 96 tail section, I would think, is the same as the F2. Seeing as the tail fairings and brake light are the same on F2 F3.

Did you read my post that you quoted?
That's exactly what I said. The '95/'96 tail is identical to the F2.
If he got a '97/'98 brakelight, it won't mount up to what he has, but if he gets the '97/'98 bracket seat and panels everything will mount right up.

Oh yeah, and the undertray that he asked about. It is different on the '97/'98.

Re: Fireblade Fairing on F2

Sorry I got 97/98 bodywork to include the gas tank, the rear cowls and the joiner.

So next I need to find a 97/98 undertray.

I'm looking at the new fairing stay and don't see a spot to mount the guages... I hope this does not become a big problem...

Re: Fireblade Fairing on F2

Yes, and the little metal bracket that goes at the top rear of the rear subframe as well.
You might need an F3 fairing stay as they are different than the F2 (but the same across all years).
